Welcome is a skateboard company founded in 2010 by Jason Celaya. The brand is built upon creativity, individuality, and nonconformity. Their skateboards are for those who march to the beat of their own drum.
The project was to create three new limited edition decks for the brand of our choice. These decks were created for a student assignment.
One of Jason's first designs was of a jackalope - a mythical creature featured in North American folklore that resembles a rabbit with antler horns.
I was inspired to create three more North American cryptid designs in homage to this early Welcome deck.

The colours I chose are reflective of Welcome's consistent use of neon and classing colours across their designs.

respective state flowers, insects, or tree leaves.
